Does not fit anysize from 35-61 inches - misleading description Oct 23, 2010
By bubbagump This product only fits openings from 35-37inches OR 47-49 inches OR 59-61 inches. If your opening is not within one of these ranges, it will not fit. Different sites state different things. I have an opening of 57 inches and after some redneck engineering I got it to fit.
Make sure to measure and see if your opening falls in one of these specific measurements as there is no adjustment instructions provided.
If you are not a redneck and do not have an opening specified above, do not order.

Very nice gate. May need hacksaw to install in some opening sizes. Mar 28, 2010
By Thaddeus D. Ruchalski
"Ruchala"
I purchased this gate after my wife and I got tired of almost breaking our necks stepping over a fixed gate. This gate does a very good job of confining our 5lb Yorkie and 20lb Shiba to the kitchen. The gate is sturdy and tall enough to contain much larger pets, and with a rail spacing of just 1 1/2 inches, I can't imagine a dog or cat small enough to slip through.
Once installed, the gate works very well. The latching mechanism is rather unsightly and made of gray plastic. I would have preferred color matching to the rest of the gate (the same goes for the adjusters). I had intended to replace it with some other type of latch but found that it functions extremely well, latching securely at the top and the bottom while being easy to use. The gate hinges are incredibly quiet and smooth, adding to the solid feel of the unit.
I knew going in that install would be challenging in our situation. The walls on each side of the opening are not parallel to each other and the opening is 56". In reading A. Graff's excellent review for this product (in the Autumn Matte color), I knew that this was between any of the acceptable size ranges (35"-37", 47"-49", 59"-61"). With a lifetime of experience jury rigging things to work, I ordered anyway, knowing I would come up with some mounting method (even if not wife approved). It turns out it was a simple matter of using a hacksaw to cut off 4" from one of the side extensions. I wasn't concerned about the door itself being centered in the opening but I could have cut off 2" on each side extension with the same result.
Even though the side adjusters are rather unsightly, they are very effective. The manufacturer came up with an ingenious method of making sure the upper adjusters provide enough tension. Since there cannot be a horizontal support spanning the top without blocking passage, the door frame is made of heavy square steel tubing which actually bows out at the top. At first glance, it looks defective. When the upper adjusters are tightened, though, the tension pushes the frame into square. The door frame acts as a giant spring. I'm not sure if metal fatigue over time will diminish the effectiveness of this solution but, for now, it provides a very secure fit.
I would give the product a 5 rating if it weren't for the mismatch color of the plastic handle and adjusters along with the fact that the side extensions may need to be cut to size in some situations (which is undocumented).

Richell One-Touch 150 Pet Gate, Origami White Nov 22, 2011
By EddieT I purchased the "Richell One-Touch 150 Pet Gate, Origami White" for a wide hall opening to stop our dogs from leaving the livingroom and venturing into my office which has the cat food/water and litter box. It seems so much sturdier then the "Carlson 0930PW Extra-Wide Walk-Thru Gate with Pet Door, White" we have between the livingroom and kitchen, even in its most extended postion. The latch/handle at top is easy to open with a flick of a finger. The gate swings in and out which is very nice(my Carlson only swings one way).
As usual, ordered via Amazon prime and got it in 2 days with no visible damage to box or items. I definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a wide hall or door that they want to keep their pet out of. Our dogs don't attempt to jump over either gate, so they keep them out pretty well; although the female (boxer/ridgeback mix) does climb the Carlson (between kitchen and livingroom) which is about the same high as this Richell when she is scared, yes she uses her front legs to pull herself over, lol.
Dog gate Mar 15, 2011
By Puppy Trainer Product setup easy, quickly and was well illustrated. Was solid when setup. Easy operation. One door was 56" wide so just trimmed one metal panel and worked great. If you do trim be sure and take notice of gap that will be left between last slat and wall as this changes from the 2 1/2" spacing between slats.
Pet gate for my new Puppy - Cooper Aug 19, 2010
By MartyElls We had a new addition to our family in July and scrambled to make the house 'puppy safe' which included sectioning off part of the house where we could keep an eye on Cooper and make him safe and comfortable at the same time. The entrance to the room is oversized (not a typical doorway), so many seemingly appropropriate gates would not fit. We investigated many options and decided to try the Richell One-Touch 150 Pet Gate (Purchased .
What an absolute joy. Easy to install. Easy to use. And it came right away. After living with it and our puppy for over a month now, the gate is a piece of luxury and makes our home peaceful even when the house is busy with visitors coming to see the new puppy. An added benefit, we can keep our other pets outside the gate at times so they can get used to Cooper in a safe manner.
I would recommend this product over and over.
Marty
