Nice but has issues Jun 03, 2010
By Kyle Buente The construction is solid but I have had issues with the hose leaking where it is connected...it should have come with a short hose with a built-in pressure regulator. I have been pleased with it, except for the leak.
Beware too that if you have a long hose run the sun can heat up your water and your dog may not like that. This would work well also for a goat or other small livestock.

Loving this! + update Apr 20, 2011

I have been looking for a solution to my outdoor water bowl problem for my two 100 lb. dogs for quite some time. I couldn't find something that met all my needs. This works great. The water is constantly fresh, a major issue for my one dog, and the water is constantly full, an issue for the other dog who drinks A TON! It was a pain trying to keep their bowls constantly full and clean, not any more. I also love that they are drinking outside instead of slobbering all over my floor inside. We'll see what I come up with in the winter to keep it from freezing - live in Denver, but I will figure out something that works as it so much more convenient than a heated water bowl that I am constantly having to refill and clean!
Easy to set up, works as described. I did put some aquarium sealant around the plug as I think I overtightened it which created a small leak. Other than that, NO problems...
December Update: I have owned this product since February and have not been disappointed. The float did crack from the freezing water but a phone call to RPI provided incredible customer service and a new float kit was received 2 days later.... FREE! Great customer service. I have ordered a plastic tank de-icer to prevent this from happening again. I had hooked up an insulated hose from the beginning to prevent freezing. I hope this helps....
Also, still have not had any leaking issues.

Great for my cats Mar 03, 2011
By Rhonda I have done cat rescue for a number of years and have many cats. This is perfect for providing them with fresh water daily. I secured it to the fence so it won't tip over. The cats found it right away and were drinking from as soon as I turned on the faucet to fill it. The manufacturer recommends either burying a long hose in the ground or to use a short hose to keep the water cool in the summer. So far, no leaks and I am completely happy with it.

H2O Awesome Sep 18, 2010

This is awesome! I have right now 10 dogs (looking for homes for them) and I was sick and tired of always finding their water bottle empty (mind you, I live in Florida where you can not afford to be without water lol) This is the best thing I have found on the internet as well as the price. It works great and the dogs never run out of water :-) It works kind of your toilet tank, as soon as it sense that the water is low, it starts filling it up again so your dogs always have fresh water.

Hot Dog! Apr 29, 2010
By Gato#1 I purchased this item for my four dogs. They spend a good deal of the day outside. The weather will be getting pretty warm soon and I was looking for something that would provide fresh cool water for the dogs. So far, this has been a great product. It's easy to put together, it's sturdy and it's easy to keep clean. It is very large so I don't clean it every day. Overall, it's a great investment.
