4Video Speaks for Itself! Both our Cats Love itMar 09, 2010
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/ROR0Z7UZIYOWG Hello,

You'll see a video below of one of our cats having fun with this new toy. We've had it now for a good 4 months and our younger cat still plays with the ball, whereas the older cat uses it mainly as a scratcher. The scratching part itself is easy to take off and flip over, so each one you can use twice. With two cats, I'd say the scratcher lasts a good 2 months per side which is good for how small it is.

It does make some noise when the cats roll it around. At night we can hear it through the doors, but nothing we mind or keeps you up. Pretty cute if you ask me!

Thanks
Danny

5It's Addictive, and InteractiveMar 09, 2010
I've bought a number of toys for my three youngish (around a year), newly-adopted rescue cats, and only two of them have stood out as instant hits--furry mice and this Turbo Scratcher. It's so good that I ended up getting three of them, one for each cat. Since the cats did not know each other previously and I'm still in the process of socializing them, each spends time alone each day and night in his/her sanctuary room (two boys, one girl). I had a Turbo Scratcher waiting for each cat the first time it came home. Well, despite the stress and unfamiliarity of their new environment, each cat, in his or her own way, immediately got hooked on this product. The female, Snowball, was the most cautious at first. As a formerly feral cat, she did not appear to be familiar with cat toys as a concept, but boy was she quick to learn. I rolled the ball for her a few times, she stared at the contraption and at me, and then cautiously lifted a paw and pushed it. I did it again, and so did she. Later I came back to her room, and she was sitting on the scratch pad. In fact, she not only uses the scratch pad constantly, she also uses it as one of her favorite resting places. Now she periodically plays with the ball on her own as well as in response to my initiating it.

The guy cats, being guys, each started batting the ball around the track approximately four seconds after I first showed them what it was. Blizzard is very inventive and places his furry mouse in the track as well from time to time. He comes back to the ball time and time again and doesn't appear the least bit tired of it after two weeks. Hershey just arrived two days ago, and this was the first toy I gave him. Again, he immediately started batting the ball around the track, first one direction, then the other, then play pounced on it. Sometimes he waits for me to hit the ball first, then he does it. Neither guy uses the scratch pad yet, but they have other scratching posts.

Whenever I come into a cat's room, all I have to do is spin the ball once and it's like a powerful magnet draws them back to play again. I should say that I initially applied just a little of the catnip on each scratch pad, and it was enough to get their interest but they were mainly attracted to the ball and track. They appear endlessly delighted with this toy, and so am I.

5My Cat's Favorite ToyMar 03, 2010
I bought this item for my cat when he was a kitten and at the age of one year, he STILL plays with it constantly--he never tires of it. It's well-made and such a great investment. I work a lot and he's alone much of the time so it's good to know that this toy never fails to entertain him. I hear the ball spinning all through the night which is slightly bothersome but it's better than him bothering me while I'm sleeping--when it gets to be too much, I simply remove the ball and hide it overnight, and it's easy to put back in in the morning. He doesn't use the scratcher part at all, but this is such a low-cost item that the fact that he spends so much time playing with the rest of it is good enough for me.

1No miracle cure, that's for sure.Mar 01, 2010
I bought this cause it seemed like a steal with all the great reviews, but my cat doesn't even pay attention to it. She's way too damn cool for a piece of plastic with a ball that weighs five times as much as the foam balls she'd much rather kick around like the awesome little soccer player that she is.

She just loves scratching the couch. I've rubbed lemon/lime/orange zest on it, I've put double-sided tape on it, I've even duct-taped the cat scratcher replacement pads on the areas she scratches. She still finds a place on the couch to scratch, and if I try bringing her to the scratcher right as she starts to scratch the couch, she gives me this look like "I'm over it. Nice try though."

4Not too pretty, but gets the job done.Feb 25, 2010
It is a cat scratching post... err... disc. My cat LOVES to scratch at it. We put some catnip all over the cardboard and he is drawn to it like crazy (way before my sofa, thank god). In this sense $11 is cheap for a good service, but there are a few complaints here:

1) The cardboard is going fast -- read 2 weeks, and you (of course) will need to buy replacements.
2) The ball is ignored. I think the fact that is confined in the track bores him.
3) The colors are hideous. We got that "lovely" turquoise.
4) There is no padding/sticky feat on the bottom, so this slides across the floor as he scratches. --Even on the rug! He doesn't like this, at all, and as soon as it starts to slide he leaves.

On that note. It is a cheap scratching item. Enough said. Put some rubber feat on the bottom of it and you have a 5 star product.
