5Great plane trip with this Dog Carrier  Feb 18, 2011
By Dixie Shadow
I purchased the Ultimate Sherpa size large for my 15 pound toy poodle. He fit into the bag just fine, and seemed happy. For two weeks before the flight, I threw toys and treats into the bag, so he had to enter the end opening to get them, and this helped him adjust to the bag. At flight time, I removed the fleecy inner bed, and placed a "pee pee pad" on the floor surface, plus a small security blanket. This increased his floor to top height, since he is tall. He rode happily in the bag, and I did not have any problems from either United or Delta Airlines. It did not fit completely under the airplane seat, but with some scrunching I could push it far enough under the seat to please the airline attendants. He likes the bag so much that now he rides in the bag for car trips, with a blanket over the bag, to keep him warmer. I open the upper opening so that he can poke his head out, but he often just curls up and sleeps in the bag. It would also easily fit my two Siamese cats. It seems sturdy, and I am very pleased with this well made bag.

5Large Ultimate Sherpa Bag  Nov 20, 2010
By apptmaker44
I needed a well made, sturdy carrier for my 18 lb. Ragdoll. I had a large Original Sherpa bag to carry both kittens, but now that they are closer to full grown I needed a second bag. The Ultimate Sherpa has flaps that roll down, good for one of my cats that gets nervous on the road. I think this will help calm her down. After looking at a lot of carriers, I knew that I was going to have to get the Sherpas. I needed bags that are big and strong enough to carry such a large breed of cat. Amazon had the best prices by far, and I received this one in only two days. Amazon rules!

4Great product with one flaw  Sep 21, 2011
By Tom "Happily Retired in LA"
This is the second Sherpa bag I purchased, but the first Ultimate bag. My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel outgrew my first Classic carrier (medium). My only complaint with this bag is that the retaining strap used by the seat belt is on the wrong side of the bag. When placed in the car with the strap to the rear, the air panel faces the back of the rear seat, not the front of the vehicle. In order to use this successfully in the car, the seat belt now has to strap over the front of the bag, so my dog can have visibility and better air flow. Sherpa products are great, but this one needs a moment of thought for a simple redesign.

5Very nice!  Feb 04, 2011
By cbooth25
This cat carrier is very nice. It feels sturdy and good quality. I worried about my cats being able to scratch the mesh to get out but it's a very sturdy mesh. The only thing I will warn you about is that it doesn't fit under the airline seat very well. It had to be the middle seat on my Southwest flight. Other carriers may have more room of course. I couldn't take my 2 cats seperately so I had to put them together in this and it was a pretty tight fit. Granted, they weigh about 12 pounds each. The duffel strap makes it easy to carry and it also has handles to carry it but by the end of the trip I wished it was on wheels! That was no fault of the carrier though, it was mine for putting my 2 heavy cats in there. They didn't meow the whole flight which was pretty shocking to me. They slept the whole time. The zipper on top makes it easy to open a little and stick my hand in to pet them. The panels on the sides are able to roll up so I could see them easily. I was nervous because it was their first flight but I was able to see them and pet them without the risk of them escaping. I think it was well worth the money.

4Finally found a large enough bag for my dog  Jan 18, 2011
By oc
4.5 stars if i could give half stars. I was looking for a large enough bag, with as much privacy possible. This bag has 2 side panels that you can roll up to allow more visibility, or keep down to allow minimal visibility. It's roomy inside enough for my 17-lb french bulldog puppy. The one complaint that i have about this bag is that the shoulder strap is not cushioned, and the rubber part should stay in the middle of the strap to provide minimal cushioning, but it slides off to the end and the strap easily slides, which creates a longer strap than i can handle( (I'm only 5'2"). after a few seconds, the lack of cushioning on the shoulder strap really creates a burn in my shoulder when I have to lug my puppy around.
