 Great for Short Time Periods, Not so Great for Long Trips Aug 25, 2010

I bought this carrier for my 6 lb. chihuahua/papillon mix. I should say I paid much more in my local pet store than the price listed here. My dog fits very comfortably and has plenty of room even though he is rather tall for his size and he doesn't mind going in it. The bag has worked out well for getting him around the city and on public transit for short trips, however there is a big problem with the bag. Because of its shape and design, even when the bag is zippered shut there are open gaps on both sides of the zipper. My dog has figured out that if he tries hard enough he can push his head through these gaps and poke his head out of the bag. This is especially a problem when he goes through the gap where the zipper starts (not where it closes and easily opens) because then I have to gently pull his head back through a very small space without hurting him and it's not an easy thing to do. The carrier is okay for shorter trips but on extended trips when the dog starts to get antsy it's way too easy for him to wriggle himself out and put himself in a situation where he can get hurt. It's become enough of a problem that I've purchased a new carrier that zips shut all the way.

i bought a medium for my 6lb chihuahua. since i live in WI, the extra room allows me to put a fleece blanket inside for him to snuggle into. it's well made and i love that it doesn't stand out as a dog carrier. i really like the features-pockets, padded sherpa type bottom etc. the only negative that i found is that i carry it on my left shoulder & the security "leash" is at the other end. i wish it were longer or one on each end. Bacchus goes in and falls asleep, i would recommend it to anyone. very happy.

I have a 4.6 lb yorkie. He does fit well in the bag and it's well made. I really like how the back has a very large pouch and a place to put my phone, wallet, pens, and my dogs papers and records. However, this is a BRIGHT, alien green, and it's not made to be a comfortable cross body bag. It hurts my shoulder after a while no matter how I try to wear it. My yorkie is my diabetes alert dog, so I have him with me about 85% of the time I'm out. I will probably try and sell it at my next yard sale.

She is almost 11 lbs and fits into the medium with enough space to turn around. It worked fine on the flight. The extra pockets were good for storing quick access items. I like the over the arm/shoulder strap- I put it across like a messenger bag for hands free movement. Overall, not a super comfy experience for the cat, but I'm satisfied.
