Ding, Ding, Ding, We Have a Winner! Jun 17, 2009
By venatrix Like any cat owner, I've wasted my fair share of money on cat toys that produced no reaction from the feline in question, so it was with some trepidation that I clicked the "add to shopping cart" button for this item. The two things that convinced me to go ahead with the purchase were my guilt at leaving my cat unstimulated all day when I'm at work, and the veterinarian's insistence that "tubby boy" become a little less tubby.
So, I got the pieces out of the box and messed about with different shapes. The aforementioned feline was trying to play with the track before I even had it fully assembled. The figure-eight set up is the most successful, at least, so far. I'm not sure if the cat will leave it alone long enough to let me try other configurations.
For a change, I'm delighted to have spent my money on a toy that makes us both happy. I'm not saying that every cat will take to this, but it's definitely worth considering if you have a cat that needs additional mental and physical stimulation.

Not the right fit for my cat Nov 17, 2009
By Lokirat First, for specifics: My cat is an only cat, who is not impressed by most toys.
She already has the Classic Bergan Turbo Chaser, the circular one. She LOVED the original one, and played with it incessantly. I bought this new model because I was intrigued with the way that we could change the track around.
Although I love the idea of this model, I would have to say that in practice, it did not live up to my expectations. Although the individual parts are very durable (my cat could play with it 24/7 and never make a dent in the plastic), the junctions are not. Therefore, the same feature which makes it novel (the ability to rearrange the pieces), also contributes to its flaws.
While the ball shoots around with little obstruction in the original Bergan Turbotrack (the circular one), the junctions are not very secure in this new model. This defect causes the ball the slow down, and keeps my cat from being too interested in this toy. My cat plays continuously with the original Bergan Track, but only takes a few swats at the ball when it is in this new track, before she gets bored. I think that my boyfriend had more fun rearranging the track pieces than my cat had fun playing with her new toy :)
Another small point: The weakness of the junctions also makes it difficult to pick up; it only holds together when it is on the floor, and tends to crumble into its individual pieces when I pick it up to move it from one place to another. I understand that being mobile is not part of the job description for this toy, but is does add to my frustration when I am vacuuming and need to move it out of my way :/
I think that maybe when multiple cats play with it at once, the hinderance of the loose junctions will not matter as much, since the numerous cats can swat the ball back and forth to each other. However, since my cat is an only cat, I think that she prefers the smoothness of the original circular (junctionless) Bergan Track, because the ball shoots right back at her when she swats it. So if you have multiple cats, I might recommend this particular model, but I suspect that single cats will have more fun with the original circular track.

Finally a toy my cats both love! Mar 28, 2009
By J. I. Lewis I got the Turbo Track about 2 months ago and both my cats, one about 9 and the other about 1, play with it daily. It's also fun to play with your cats. I haven't tried too many of the other configurations; they seem to like the figure 8 the best (they like pushing the ball through the arch). I would definitely recommend this toy to any cat owner.

This thing is too cool. Aug 17, 2009
By SixFootValkyrie First let me just say I had some concerns about the sturdiness based on other reviews here. That worry appears to be unfounded. I have a genius cat who likes to take things apart, and he hasn't bothered it. My female cat, who weighs around 12lbs, belly flopped right on top of it in pursuit of the ball and it stood up fine to that. I also accidentally ran over it with my knee while crawling on the floor to retrieve something. It came out unscathed. It took my kitten a little while to figure the toy out, but he's really young and he's still figuring out everything. Now he loves it. He likes to shove the ball under the arch and tries to yank it out of the track with both paws. (He must spend at *least* an hour with it a day.) He also puts his toy mice in the track and shoves them around. The female cat plays with the toy now that she has seen how much fun the kitten has. I really recommend having part of the track arch over another part because shoving the ball under there seems to be the highlight of their day. I think this toy is worth every penny I paid for it.
