2Not great for over a cast....  Mar 06, 2010
By Beth Ann Henry
Although they do not advertise the boots are made for this use, we purchased the boots to protect a cast placed on our dog's foot after he broke his toe. The boots run small and I would recommend purchasing a larger size if you are using for boots for the same reason. They seemed to be very tight around his leg - I suppose to keep them from slipping - however I was worried about leg circulation and removed them immediately after his walk. I believe their may be better products out there for this purpose - keep looking.

5EXCELLENT!!!  Feb 01, 2012

These dog boots are fantastic. They have worked out quite well for my Great Dane who needed a boot because of a paw injury. We tried everything before finding PAWZ and nothing worked. The other boots either didn't fit well, didn't protect her bandage well, or were too slippery in the rain or snow. But PAWZ x-large fit beautifully and have given her the traction she needs when the weather isn't cooperating. I can't recommend these boots enough--they are awesome!

4Great for paw injuries!  Sep 17, 2011

I originally purchased these for winter for my thin-skinned greyhound who is not a fan of the cold and ice. They worked well, but before I really knew how to fit them, I'd pull them up too high and his nails would puncture the rubber. Since then though, I've learned the correct fit, as well as kept his nails rounded and smooth, and we've not had a problem since. They came in more handy recently though, as my dog had a minor tear in his webbing between his toes. Not major enough for a bandage, I fretted about him going outside and getting the stitches wet, dirty, and potentially infected; no need with these boots! I slip one on before we go out, and his bad paw stays safe and clean! Works wonderfully, and worth every penny for such instances as these!

My dog was bringing in dirt when she would go outside in the winter.....these were a life saver. Fit wonderfully on my HUGE Bernese Mountain Dog! Plus, you can get multiple uses out of 1 pair!!!

4Best price I could find  Mar 25, 2010

My basset hound, Fred, has arthritis which causes him to drag his left rear leg. By doing this he wears down two toenails which will eventually wear down to the quick causing bleeding.

These booties protect his foot. I have added another feature- a little kids sock inside the bootie which cushions his foot and also extends the life of the bootie. Another tip- your can repair the booties with duct tape.

I would like to see the manufacturer make the "balloon" material thicker. They might last longer.
