Nice idea, absurd price Jul 05, 2008
By nybiblio I cannot believe I let the kids talk me into buying this. All it is really is a plastic aerator ("hydro surge" my aunt fanny) with on/off buttons. There is no reason for this item to cost what it does! Then, they hit you up for the shampoo cartridges.
On the upside, having the shampoo mix with the water, etc. is a nice idea. It works better than the wet, lather, rinse method. However, there are other products available which performs the same function as this one, for half the price.
Buy it if they drop the price to below forty, but be aware that you'll still have to pay 3USD per shampoo cartridge. They claim you can wash several dogs with one cartridge - that's true only if you have very small dogs. One cartridge is good for 1.5 labradors.

Willow's happy, I'm happy. Jun 18, 2008
By N. Wren My Irish Setter loves being outside. She loves running thru the mud, brush, woods - a real field dog. Virginia's clay soil dries in her feathers like cement - not fun for either of us at bath time. I am NOT a gadget person - but this RapidBath has made a big difference in our quality of life. It makes bathing easy, fast, and efficient. Willow leans into the water spray instead of squirming to get loose - she doesn't quite 'smile' like the Golden in the video, but she is clearly enjoying the water massage. The amount of dirt and dust coming into the house has been reduced significantly. We love having soft, silky Willow inside with us. Last year, she dropped a lot of fur and started chewing herself. The vet said it was from allergies. This year, she has a great, thick coat and I think it's because we've been using the RapidBath.

Love it - no LOVE IT Jun 17, 2008

It used to take me 30 minutes to wash each of my German Shepards. After a few uses, I can now get both of them completely clean in under 5! Finally a product that works as good as it claims.

Bathing has never been easier! Jun 17, 2008

Bathing my large white golden doodle has never been easier. After a day at the dog park, she comes back all dirty. It seems like her long hair attracts every rock, grain of dirt, or tree branch. Everyone at the dog park looks at me with pity because of my white dog. Well I don't feel overwhelmed anymore. When it is nice outside, it is so easy to hook up the rapid bath to our outside hose, insert the cartridge and start bathing her. It is so nice not to first wet her, then apply the shampoo, then wait the 3 minutes it says on the bottle, and then rinse. And forget about doing it again with conditioner. The rapid bath shows me where the shampoo is going and it is done in a snap. We have now made using the rapid bath just another fun part of the dog park experience.

Dog Wash May 14, 2010

For washing a dog, this has been the best unit I've found. It still isn't perfect, but it is the best. I know professional groomers have better units, but I'm not going to spend $500 or more dollars.
I've a got a standard poodle that can be hard to wash when he has a longer coat. After retrieving in the mud or running blinds in the water, his coat is filthy. The old system was wet him down, try to soap him up, and spray with more water because the shampoo was to thick. I found the water diluted the shampoo, and I reapplied more shampoo to try to penetrate the thick hair. The cycle was wet, apply shampoo, wet, apply more, and maybe do it again. (Remember, he is filthy. It's a good thing retriever training is fun.)
This unit dispenses a small amount of shampoo while washing. I don't excessively dilute the shampoo I've applied, and don't need to reapply shampoo.
The amount of shampoo it is designed to apply internally isn't enough needed to was my dog effectively no matter how short his coat.
Another nice feature is the type of fitting it uses. It is for hose bibs. You can use it in the backyard, or use the supplied attachment for the shower. When the weather is warmer, I use the hose bib fitting at the training grounds and connect it to a hose to wash my dog in the field.
The manufacturers won't like to hear this, but I'm still using the original shampoo cartridge that came with the unit 1 year ago. I don't want to use their shampoo. When the cartridge was empty, I use a cooking syringe designed to inject meats. The diameter of the blunt needle supplied is narrow enough to slide inside the cartridge opening, and I fill it with a shampoo I like. The syringe is the type one would buy to inject meat with vegetable oils when cooking.
At some point I'll need to buy another shampoo cartridge, but this one is still going strong.
