3good product--but watch the size!  Jun 27, 2008
By LG's Mom
The carseat is very nice, well put-together and very functional and sturdy. However, it is much smaller than I imagined it would be, and my puppy only used it once before he outgrew it! Pay attention to the measurements that the manufacturer provides and measure your pup if you have to, otherwise your experience will be as disappointing as mine. However, the disappointment was my fault alone for not attending to the size. This product would be very useful for a cat, or a small toy-sized dog or small puppy. My puppy was too big for it at 11 lbs., so I really mean SMALL!

1From happy to sad- don't buy this bag  Dec 08, 2009
By C. Wilson "carmenmich"
I'm becoming annoyed with this bag I have now bought 4 between Amazon.com and Overstock.com in a 2 year period. The zipper did go on the bag and the velcro came un-sewn. I bought another and the tag on the zipper broke off. The zipper would jam a lot and I would have to use the zipper from another area until they all would eventually go. I bought another and the zipper burst open. I bought a 4th only because I love the mesh on all four corners and I like that it's also a car seat but the materials are too cheap. This time within a week the seam unraveled and the hole just got bigger and bigger. I had to switch back to one of the broken zipper bags until I went out and bought a new bag. I planned on contacting the company but never got around to it. They last bag I have only had for 4 months and I can't use it. My dog by the way is only 5lbs and has not damaged the bag in any way. I just checked the Pet Gear website and they offer a 30-day warranty. That's not very long. Hmmm, I wonder why...

I just bought Snoozer rolling bag today. It has the mesh all around and I can take it as a carry-on on a plane. No more Pet Gear for me.

My original review: Was five stars
I bought this back in January 2009 for my Maltese. I think it's a shame that people are giving a low rating because they got the measurements wrong. However, I think the handles probably hold up 20lbs or whatever but the top size for a dog should be around 5lbs. I think a dog larger than that would be uncomfortable. My Maltese is 4lbs full grown and she can sit, turn around and lay down in the bag comfortably for hours. It think physically it would be hard to carry a dog heavier than 5 or 6lbs. and a rolling carrier is probably better. I use this bag everyday as a car seat and a carrier. It's very discreet and I take my Maltese to the movies, to school, work, restuarants, the grocery store, and on the airplane and people barely notice. I've got so much use out of it that I need a second one bc the zipper is starting to go.

1Much smaller than advertised  Jul 04, 2009
By M. Yannuzzi
This carrier was fine for my 2 pound chihuahua puppy in April but my 5 pound chihuahua in June cannot sit up. He can only lay down or if he tries to sit up he has to duck his head down. I can't imagine this product being advertised to fit a 12 pound dog. We were only able to use it a few times.

4Great idea, but kind of small  Mar 04, 2012
By R. Rogers
I bought this for my kitten when we first got him, and it was great. I like the face that you can buckle it in in the car, and it collapses for places with very little storage. However, it is small. Great for a kitten or toy dog, but now my 7 month old kitten weighs 9.5 pounds, and has outgrown it. One day while we were traveling, he freaked out and ripped up the inside as well. He loves the car seat, and uses it as his safe place when we travel, but the li,es to sit on it, squishing it. At this point, it droops a bit.

Overall, it's a great car seat, but is a bit small. When I started looking for a new car seat, instead if getting the next size up, I found one that has a shoulder strap, since my kitten is getting heavy, and I don't always want to walk him on a leash. I would definitely recommend this to someone with a kitten or toy dog, but definitely expect to get the next size up before too much longer.

4Just right  Nov 09, 2010

So far this seems to be a great item. The padding is a bit thin on the bottom but I can add a blanket or thicker cushion for longer road trips. Much roomier then the one I had before and it has a harness/collar clip to keep my dog inside instead of popping out the top when I am driving.
