My huge crate is mobile! May 09, 2009

These wheels work fine on tile or carpet. I am using them indoors on a 42 x 30 crate. I love how easy it is to move the crate for vacuuming, etc. I put on three sets (6 wheels) as recommended for a large crate. It takes a little time to install them with all the small bolts, nuts and washers, but it's not like I'm planning to take them off again. The crate folds just fine with the wheels on. So you can still store and travel with the crate easily. The wheels just stick out a few inches when the crate is folded. Excellent choice if you are tired of lifting or dragging your dog crate. You can even move the crate with the 80 pound dog in it!

I have five dogs so I do quite a bit of floor cleaning to keep up with all the pet hair and messes. Moving their large crates was cumbersome so naturally wheels were the perfect solution. I searched all the big box home improvement stores and pet stores and could NOT find anything suitable. I found these casters online, they came very quickly and installed in a snap. Now my floors are clean, and in the case of liquid spills or accidents that flow under the crates, clean up is easy and I don't have to worry about rust stains from the wires sitting directly on the floor.

I have some large cages and I hoped these would work - they do! However... the reason I am not giving five stars is that you almost need to be Houdini to get them on a large cage and you should know that. There is nothing wrong with the design - I can not see a better way but OMG holding all the little pieces in place in the right position was hard.

I got this to go along with my puppy's new Midwest Life Stages crate. The installation of the casters was a little tricky by myself, but once I got the hang of how the casters install, I was able to finish it. The instructions left much to be desired, as they were just a picture showing how each piece is supposed to go, and not any step-by-step guide. You can figure it out well enough though. I used the casters with another Midwest Crate, so I knew that they would fit, but beware if you do not have a Midwest Crate, as these may not fit your particular model of crate.
The casters themselves are good quality. They have a locking mechanism that prevents the wheel from moving. They are made out of plastic, so I would try to be careful with them, but I don't think with normal use they would fall apart. As another reviewer mentioned, please be careful when purchasing these casters. They come in a pack of two, and you will need at least four. They packaging recommends using six for large crates. I guess I will be buying more of these when I get the chance, as I have a dog that will get to be pretty large.
I actually am enjoying the mobility of my dog's crate now, so I think this is a very great and useful product at a very cheap price. This has made my dog's crate mobile, so now I can move him from my living room to my bedroom with no problem whatsoever. I do recommend this product to anyone that has a pet crate that they may need to move. It makes the job much easier, and the pet much happier.

I have a 24x36 crate that I recently purchased. These casters are a Godsend. They're high quality and easy to install. Wow! What a difference they make. Because of their quality the casters make moving the crate around a breeze. They come in handy when I need to move the crate outside for washing or from room to room.
Well worth the price. Buy these for your dog crate. You'll love 'em!
